Lord Ram's brother Laxman was critically injured after being hit by Indrajit’s weapon. Lord Hanuman heard that Sanjeevani Booti is what could heal his master's brother. Thus, he set off on a journey to find the medicine. Unable to find it elsewhere, he got to know that it grows on a mountain named Mount Dronagiri in the Himalayas. Thus, Lord Hanuman reached the mountain and picked it up whole to reach Lord Laxman on time and heal him with the best effort possible. According to researchers, the herb still grows on the mountain which shares borders with Nepal. The exact plant remains unknown till date, with debates on whether it is Selaginella bryopteris, Dendrobium plicatile or Cressa cretica.
