Director duo JD and Jerry have helmed the movie which was released last year
A still from The Legend
Tamil movie buffs were surprised when Saravanan Arul, one of the leading entrepreneurs in Tamil Nadu, announced his decision to foray into acting. The movie was titled The Legend and directors JD and Jerry were roped in to helm the project.
It revolves around a talented scientist who sets out to bring in a lot of remarkable changes in a village. However, a few people with vested interests interfere in his plans for their own benefits. How the optimistic scientist plans to implement his ideas forms the rest of the story.
The movie, upon its theatrical release in July last year, opened to negative reviews from critics and the audience. Saravanan's acting garnered poor response, though many expressed astonishment on his confidence to play the lead in a big budget movie produced by himself. Urvashi Rautela, Geethika, Vivek, Nasser, Prabhu, Vijayakumar and Yogi Babu among others played key roles in the film which has music composed by Harris Jayaraj.
R Velraj and Ruben handled cinematography and editing respectively for the film which has dance scenes choreographed by Raju Sundaram, Brinda and Dinesh. Anl Arasu has composed stunt sequences for The Legend which has dialogues penned by Pattukottai Prabhakar.
Despite its below par reviews and being the most trolled Tamil film in recent years, many movie buffs were eager to know about the delay in its OTT premiere. Saravanan himself has now announced that the action flick will drop on Disney+ Hotstar on March 3.
He took to his Twitter page to post, "The Wait is over! #Legend streaming in @DisneyPlusHS from Tomorrow (sic)." The Legend will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi on OTT. Saravanan has also added that he will update the release time tomorrow morning.
