Anything to do with Star Wars is of great interest to one and all, even before the details are announced. The franchise has grown so much that it has found fans across the world. Even if you haven’t watched anything from the long list of films and series, you have at least heard about how good they are (salute to your stubbornness for still not watching it, though). So when The Mandalorian dropped and continued for three seasons, we were thankful to Lucas Films and Disney for bringing it to us. But the mystery surrounding season 4 has kept us curious over a couple of months.

The Mandalorian Season 4 To Be A Feature Film?

While there is no doubt that there is indeed a future for The Mandalorian and that it is set on a massive canvas, confusion was created when it was reported that George Lucas and Disney might end up converting their idea for the series into a feature-length film. If this is fresh news for you, know that you are not alone since our reaction was the same.

It was said that Pedro Pascal, the leading actor who stars in and as The Mandalorian, is returning to play the part in the film too. But there were also reports of a body double shooting the masked parts for the actor, who has his kitty full.

The New Update

But while we are all figuring out what is happening, there is a new update: there is a wild turn waiting. If the latest report is to be believed, The Mandalorian will have a fourth season and also a feature film. But how is this even possible? Well, there’s an answer for that too in the report. There are two projects in development titled The Mandalorian Season 4 and The Mandalorian & Grogu. The former is a series, whereas the latter is a film.

Making Star Wars shared the scoop and wrote, "One of the concepts that has come out of this, count this as a rumour for now, is that the plan was to do six episodes of Mando [season four] and to take the finale, what would’ve been the finale, the big two-parter, from the end of that and that’s being developed into the film [The Mandalorian and Grogu]."

So technically, the introduction will be in the show, and the endgame to the season will come as a feature film. While there is no confirmation on this news, it doesn’t seem like a tall order at all because all the studios are chalking out new plans for their popular IPs.

The Release Window

While talks of the feature film The Mandalorian & Grogu are still in their early stages and there is no release window attached to it, as per reports, Season 4 is set to hit Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar in India in 2025. This means that if there is a movie, it will not be released before 2026 or 2027. John Favreau's saying there is much more to The Mandalorian seems true now, and if the studio aims to take the TV IP to films and bring the Star Wars fandom back to the theatres, it will be a cultural movement as it has been a very long time.
