One of the most loved projects that has been in the rumor pool for a while now is The Mandalorian. A spinoff to the iconic Star Wars franchise, the show that stars Pedro Pascal in the lead is one of the most watched shows on Disney+. It takes the legacy of one of the most revered franchises of all time and has big shoes to fill. But while the past three seasons have been out for a while, and the fans have been waiting for the fourth, a new rumor now suggests that the new season will be turned into a feature film.

The Mandalorian enjoyed a crazy reception for the first season backed by Lucas film and streamed on Disney+. However, the next two to follow couldn’t beat the record of the first. But that doesn’t mean that viewership was any less. The fan frenzy has of course motivated the makers to have a new season. But looks like they now have some very interesting plans to take their OTT IP and convert it into a feature-length film.

This is not the first time we are hearing a rumor about The Mandalorian of this sort. It had surfaced earlier but was soon shot down calling it impossible. But scooper Jeff Snider has now through his The Hit Mic confirmed that this might just turn out to be true. “A couple of months ago I shot this one down, that there were rumors that season four of The Mandalorian could be turned into a movie," said Sneider.

Jeff Snider added, "I think at the time I didn’t think that was necessarily the case. However, that is now what I am starting to hear. The odds are in that project's favour, whatever season four of The Mandalorian turns out to be, whoever is in it, what it turns out, whatever shape it takes, it is looking like that could be the next Star Wars movie and that might be the thing that’s announced before the end of the year.”

Meanwhile, we have also heard that Pedro Pascal is mostly reprising his bounty hunter on the show and will continue to be the lead. However, reports have also said that he will not be on the sets for season four to film the scenes. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
