The highly anticipated trailer of Annaatthe is here. If the film's teaser which released recently was an out-and-out Rajinikanth show, the trailer features all the antagonists of the film, along with a few other artists. The Superstar is seen as Kalaiayyan who hails from the village Soorakottai. His life revolves around his little sister played by Keerthy Suresh.
An unexpected situation lands her in trouble when she is in Kolkata. Going by the trailer, how Kalaiayyan takes on a few baddies and saves his sister forms the film's plot. Unlike the teaser, the trailer features a host of actors like Prakash Raj, Jagapathi Babu, Abhimanyu Singh and Redin Kingsley.
Prakash Raj is sharing screen space with Rajinikanth for the second time after Padayappa which released more than two decades ago. Jagapathi Babu, who last teamed up with the Superstar in Lingaa a few years ago, reminds us of the appearance he sported for the Tollywood film Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava.
This is the first time Abhimanyu is joining hands with Rajini while Redin Kingsley's antics reminds us of his expressions in his previous outings. Meena and Khushbu get a dialogue to utter in the trailer and fans can't wait to watch their matinee idol sharing screen space with the veteran actresses after several years.
The sister role essayed by Keerthy has a striking resemblance to director Siva's Ajith-starrer Vedalam which released in 2015. Interestingly, the backdrop of the six year old movie, too, was set against Kolkata. Sathyan, Soori, Thavasi, Vela Ramamoorthy are a few others who are seen in the trailer which has Rajinikanth showcasing various emotions.
Nayanthara, who plays his love interest, too, makes a brief appearance in the two-and-a-half minutes trailer. The movie, bankrolled by Sun Pictures, is all set for a theatrical release in November 4.
