The Pet Detective OTT release: Sharaf U Dheen-Anupama Parameswaran’s film to stream on this platform soon

Malayalam actor Sharaf U Dheen, who has quite a knack for comedy, starred in The Pet Detective, along with Anupama Parameswaran. The 2025 Malayalam film, helmed by Praneesh Vijayan, is all set to release in the digital space on Zee5 and OTTplay Premium.

Where to watch The Pet Detective on OTT

The streaming rights for Malayalam film The Pet Detective, which released in theatres on October 16, has been acquired by Zee5. However, an OTT release date for The Pet Detective is yet to be revealed though an announcement is expected by next week. Once Sharaf U Dheen’s film hits the digital space, The Pet Detective would also be available on OTTplay Premium. Details about whether the Malayalam film would be available in other languages are not known at this point.

The Pet Detective released in theatres a day before Navya Nair’s cop drama Paathirathri, which also featured Soubin Shahir. However, the police film failed to attract viewers, while The Pet Detective had a better run at the theatres. Now, with the digital release, The Pet Detective is expected to reach more audiences.

The Pet Detective cast and plot

The Pet Detective stars Sharaf U Dheen in the lead role of Tony Jose Alula, while popular actress Anupama Parameswaran is seen as his love interest Kaikeyi. Tony turns a pet detective to impress Kaikeyi’s father, but soon gets involved in bigger crimes as he crosses paths with that of international mafia. How he solves this case is depicted in the film with a lot of chaos, comedy and action. Vinayakan, Vinay Forrt, Shyam Mohan and Joemon Jyothir are the actors in the cast, which add to the fun. Senior actors Vijayaraghavan and Shobi Thilakan also appear in the film.

Before The Pet Detective, Sharaf U Dheen was seen in Samshayam and Padakkalam, another comedy film with a touch of fantasy. Anupama, on the other hand, was last seen in the Telugu horror film Kishkindhapuri, while her last Malayalam release was JSK: Janaki V v/s State of Kerala.
