The Protector teaser: Shine Tom Chacko turns cop as the probes focusses on the ‘haunted’ room

Shine Tom Chacko’s upcoming film The Protector is gearing up for its release on June 13, 2025. The makers have now unveiled the teaser of The Protector, which features Shine Tom Chacko as a cop.

The Protector, the 2025 Malayalam film directed by G M Manu, stars Shine Tom Chacko in the lead role. The teaser of The Protector begins with a shot of a huge ancestral house (tharavadu) in Kerala with a cop stating that it is ‘Theke muri’. An astrologer predicts that one more death will happen in the Tharavadu as the teaser takes a horror mode with eerie shadows in the background, and women shrieking out in terror. Shine’s cop makes an entrance and seeks to open the 'haunted' room in question (Theke muri), which has been locked up by a swami.

The teaser gives the vibe that The Protector will revolve around a police investigation after horrifying elements plague the residents of the tharavadu. The film releases along with Kankhajura actor Roshan Mathew's Ronthu and Vysanasametham Bandhumithradhikal on Friday.

The teaser has drawn mixed reactions from audiences. While one section of the viewers has conveyed their best wishes for the film, some feel that the teaser gives out ‘serial vibes’.

Apart from Shine Tom Chacko, the film also features Sudheer Karamana, Manikuttan, Shivaji Guruvayoor, Boban Aalumoodan, Devi Chandhana, and Diana.

Ajesh Antony has penned the script, while Bepson and Kiran are also credited as co-writers. Rajeesh Raman is the DOP, Thahir Hamsa is the editor of the film, which has music by Jinosh Antony. The film is produced by Robins Mathew, under the Ambat Films Banner.
