Kannan's Thalli Pogathey, starring Atharvaa and Anupama Parameswaran, has been postponed once again. The romantic drama, which is a remake of Telugu hit film Ninnu Kori (streaming on Amazon Prime Video), was slated as a theatrical release on December 3. According to a source, the movie will not make it to theatres this Friday.
Earlier, the film which was announced as a release on October 14, along with Sasikumar's Raajavamsam, had postponed in the last minute with too many releases arriving on the festival of Dussehra. The new release date is expected to be announced on a few days.
Thalli Pogathey was supposed to take on GV Prakash's Bachelor and Blue Sattai Maran's Anti Indian at the box office on December 3. However, the release of Anti Indian, too, has been postponed by a week. The social satire is now releasing on December 10.
Thalli Pogathey, which has been produced by Kannan himself, has Amitash Pradhan, Aadukalam Naren, Kaali Venkat, Jagan and Vidyullekha Raman among others playing key roles in it. Gopi Sunder has composed music for the movie which has editing by Selva RK and cinematography by N Shanmuga Sundaram.
Atharvaa, Anupama and Amitash have essayed the roles played by Nani, Nivetha Thomas and Aadi respectively in the Telugu version while Vidyullekha has reprised her character from the original version. Similarly, Gopi Sunder, who has composed for Ninnu Kori as well, has retained the same composition for the remake version with lyrics penned by Kabilan Vairamuthu.
The films marks Anupama's second outing in Tamil while it is Atharvaa's theatrical release after more than two years.
