The Royals actor Ishaan Khatter on entourage debate in industry: 'Definitely some discretion from...'

Ishaan Khatter was recently seen in Netflix's regal rom-com series, The Royals. Co-starring Bhumi Pednekar, the series has been getting mixed responses from critics and fans. Amid this, Ishaan opened up about the entourage debate in Bollywood and said, "No one person should have enough people to burden an entire setup”.

In an interview with PTI, Ishaan Khatter shared his valuable thoughts on the entourage debate in the Bollywood industry. His latest series, The Royals, provides a 'royal' take on the rising costs of actors, which often put an additional burden on film budgets. 

He said, “No one person should have enough people to burden an entire setup. There's a good bit of tongue-in-cheek fun to have there. My personal experience has been very different on different sets. I've worked on A Perfect Couple, where I was literally my own everything, and I had no person with me. In setups like these, you’ve a lot of …we're used to a lot of help. It can often be funny."

Ishaan also mentioned that as an actor, he prefers not to have a manager on the set with him. "I prefer to just do the work mixed with the team. So, I'm not for or against, but definitely some discretion from the actor would be great,” he said.

Reception of The Royals

The Royals on Netflix has been receiving mixed responses, with most fans calling it an 'average show' and they also mentioned that it is a 'waste of talent.'

Meanwhile, The Royals is the story of a reluctant prince and a determined entrepreneur, who clash and eventually fall in love. The cast also features Zeenat Aman, Milind Soman, Dino Morea, and others.
