The Royals star Ishaan Khatter talks about his next Homebound; Calls it an 'important' film

Ishaan Khatter was recently seen in Netflix's regal rom-com series, The Royals. Co-starring Bhumi Pednekar, the series has been getting mixed responses, but Ishaan's acting was praised. Now, the actor will be seen in the upcoming film, Homebound, which was screened at Cannes under the ‘Un Certain Regard’ section. The film also stars Janhvi Kapoor. During the Cannes, Ishaan opened up about the film and the director Neeraj Ghaywan.

Speaking to Zoom, Ishaan Khatter opened up about Homebound, which is going to the prestigious festival Cannes. Without revealing too much information, Ishaan said, “It’s very early,” and that “Neeraj is very protective. He also said, “I'm very proud of this film. I can't wait for people to see it. I think it's a very important film."

Ishaan Khatter praises Neeraj Ghaywan

Praising the director, Neera Ghaywan, Ishaan said that he is a very rare filmmaker and also a sensitive, humane, thoughtful filmmaker, and he's truly that person in real life. "His films are like Masan because he's like that and I just think people are not making films like this anymore," Ishaan added. 

Meanwhile, Homebound is written and directed by Neeraj Ghaywan. It stars Ishaan Khatter, Janhvi Kapoor, and Vishal Jethwa in lead roles. The film is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra, with Marijke de Souza and Melita Toscan Du Plantier serving as co-producers.
