The Strangers: Chapter One seems to be competing for the leading position in the franchise with the original 2008 Strangers. The third installment boasts a similar set-up, unlike that of The Strangers: Prey at Night trailer park. But the trailer assures a creepier adventure this time, set in a comfortable Airbnb cabin in a quaint but creepy hamlet.
The Strangers: Chapter One will be the first part of a trilogy, followed by Chapter 2 and Chapter 3, respectively. The film will be released internationally in theatres on May 17, before arriving on VOD and OTT. Directed by Exorcist: The Beginning and Die Hard 2 director Renny Harlin, the film promises more fear and thrills than the original film in the trailer it dropped yesterday.
The Strangers: Chapter One sees Madelaine Petsch of Riverdale fame as Maya, along with Teen Wolf’s Froy Gutierrez as Ryan, the long-time, happy couple who decide to go on a three-day road trip in the Pacific Northwest. As the two travel and enjoy the final day while celebrating their five-year anniversary, they get stranded in an eerie, unfriendly little town beside the woods.

Forced to spend a night in a pretty, quiet little wood cottage rental by the woods, Maya and Ryan forget their odd encounters with the town’s inhabitants, old and young. Just as they were getting on like a house on fire, they heard a knock on the door. A young boy, lurking in the shadows of the porch, asks if the house is Tamara’s, reminding viewers of the iconic introduction of the intruders.
After shooing him away, strange and horrific happenings lead to a terrible discovery for Maya and Ryan. They are not alone in the house. And the intruders are not here for cash or goods. They are here for blood. The trailer of The Strangers: Chapter One offers breathtaking and seat-gripping peeks at the chaos, chase, struggle, gore and bloodshed that is about to follow.
