It was announced recently that Prabhu Deva-starrer Theal, directed by debutant Hari Kumar, will hit the screens on December 10. The team had also held a press meet which was attended by its cast and crew. Prabhu was all praise for the crew members and had thanked producer Gnanavel Raja for the film's output.

However, the makers of the movie have now left the fans of the actor-filmmaker shocked, thanks to their decision to postpone its theatrical release. The Twitter handle of Raja's production house, Studio Green, informed that the decision was based on certain unforeseen situations.

The tweet read, "Due to certain unforseen situations, the release of #Theal is postponed for now. A new release date will be announced soon. Thank you for your support. We will meet you soon with the film." The action drama has Samyukta Hegde playing the female lead.

The movie, which touches upon the relationship between a son and a mother, has Vignesh Vasu cranking the camera, C Sathya composing music and Praveen KL handling editing. Pon Parthiban has written dialogues for Theal which has stunt choreography by National Award-winning duo Anbariv.

At the audio launch of the movie, Prabhu Deva said that his character of a ruffian in the movie is something which he has never essayed before. He had also added that the film's story is such that there is no scope for dance movements in it.

He has Santhosh P Jayakumar's Poikkal Kudhirai, Adhik Ravichandran's Bagheera, MS Arjun's Yung Mung Sung, lyricist-turned-filmmaker Pa Vijay's untitled project and VS' Oomai Vizhigal in his kitty.
