Vivek Agnihotri-directed The Vaccine War gathered immense buzz ahead of its release. However, soon after being out in theatres, the medical thriller drama wasn't able to connect with the audience or receive positive reviews as well as didn't perform at the box office. Amid this, the Indian filmmaker recently unveiled his meeting with UP CM Yogi Adityanath and how he has requested the screening of his latest movie for the students.

Agnihotri meets Yogi Adityanath

According to a recent report on TOI, Agnihotri shared that he recently went to Uttar Pradesh for the promotion of The Vaccine War and Chief Minister Yogi for the same. Revealing the Indian leader's reaction to his film, the director mentioned that he had a great meeting with the UP CM and the latter said that science is the future. "We even requested him to screen the movie for students in the state," Agnihotri told the news portal.

Based on Prof Balram Bhargava's book Going Viral, the latest medical docudrama chronicles the events of COVID-19, especially from the perspective of scientists and doctors, who were adamant about creating one of the most powerful vaccines against the deadly virus. Bankrolled by Pallavi Joshi, who also stars in the film, The Vaccine War also has Nana Patekar, Anupam Kher, Raima Sen and Sapthami Gowda in pivotal roles. The film is out in theatres now.
