‘Oru Naal Koothu’ fame director Nelson Venkatesan has announced his next film. Titled ‘DNA’, it stars Atharvaa and Mollywood actress Nimisha Sajayan in lead roles. The project is bankrolled by Olympia Movies, which took to its X handle to release the first look poster for the film, along with its title. This has generated quite the buzz among fans. The film is a crime-action drama and is scheduled to go on floors today. 

Cast and crew of DNA

In addition to the main cast, the movie features Balaji Sakthivel and Ramesh Thilak, who were recently seen in the film 'Good Night.' Ramesh is all set to collaborate with Nelson once again, following their initial partnership in Nelson's debut directorial, 'Oru Naal Koothu.'

VJ Joseph Sabu, who has been a part of all of Nelson's his directorial ventures, will be responsible for the editing of the film. Parthiban is the cinematographer, while Shivashankar is the art director.

DNA is Nimisha Sajayan's forth Tamil film

DNA marks Nimisha's forth project in Kollywood after the recent critically-acclaimed ‘Chithha’, which also stars Siddharth. She also has Karthik Subaraj’s ‘Jigarthanda Double X’ and ‘Achcham Enbathu Illayae' in her kitty.

DNA release date

'DNA' will primarily be shot in Chennai. According to Nelson, the production team is aiming to complete the shooting of the film by December. Once the post-production work is done, which is expected to be done swiftly, the team plans to release the film in early 2024.

Atharvaa’s upcoming projects

As for Atharvaa, he recently made his successful OTT debut with the web series ‘Mathagam’, in which he plays ACP Ashwath Rathnakumar. He has a handful of upcoming projects that include Karthik Naren’s thriller flick ‘Nirangal Moondru’, Thanal, and Address, the release dates of which are yet to be announced.
