The much-anticipated trailer of Thug Life, the upcoming Tamil film starring Kamal Haasan, Silambarasan and others, was released by the makers on social media on Saturday. The film, directed by Roja filmmaker Mani Ratnam, is slated for a theatrical release on June 5.
Ever since the 1987 film Nayakan released, audiences have been wanting Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam to reunite. After 38 years, the duo is back, with Thug Life, another film based on a gangster. The Anjali filmmaker has crafted a film with star ensemble including Silambarasan and Trisha. With the trailer of the film already out, it is now unveiled that the main conflict will be between Simbu and Kamal Haasan who seem to have turned foes.
The trailer has revealed the plot of the film and we will be seeing a unique face off. Fans of Mani Ratnam, Simbu and Kamal Haasan have been in praise for the trailer. From praising Kamal Haasan's romantic scenes with Abhirami and Trisha, to the Silambarasan's declaration as the next Rangarayan Sakthivel Nayakar have been the highlighted moments. Thug Life is produced by Raaj Kamal Films International and Madras Talkies jointly. The film will release in theatres on June 5, following which it will premiere on Netflix, which has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights for a fancy price.
Apart from Kamal Haasan and Silambarasan, the film also features Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Ashok Selvan, Abhirami, Joju George, Nasser, and others. Sanya Malhotra makes a cameo appearance in the song Jingucha, which was released recently. AR Rahman scored the music.
The line of Thug Life was provided by the Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu actor, upon which Mani Ratnam had worked around to flesh out a unique script of a man who is believed to be dead to the outside world.
