Thunivu: Darshan overwhelmed with the response to his cameo in the Ajith-starrer action drama

Director H Vinoth had assured movie buffs recently that Ajith-starrer Thunivu will not be a regular heist drama and that there would be many surprises. One such unexpected element in the movie was a cameo essayed by Darshan who shot to fame with Kanaa in 2018.

The actor's role as a naïve bank employee who finds it difficult to cope up with the crookedness of the corporate world is one of the impressive aspects of the film. He has remained tight-lipped about his character in the project till date.

With appreciation being showered from several quarters, he has now taken to Twitter to express excitement. He posted a picture of him posing with Ajith and Vinoth and thanked them for the opportunity. His post read, "Extremely happy to be a small part in #AK sir’s #Thunivu. Thank you so much #HVinoth sir for this opportunity. Always grateful (sic)."

Fans of Ajith and others started heaping praise on his acting in the comment section. Many were of the opinion that it was his solid performance in the latter half which helped the audience relate to the movie's screenplay.

Meanwhile, the film which was released in Tamil and Telugu today has a good opening. The trade is awaiting the box office numbers which will be out tomorrow. Fans of Ajith are eager to know if their favourite star has created new records with Thunivu.

The movie is said to have bagged more screens than Vijay's Varisu in Tamil Nadu which has also hit the screens today. Exhibitors hope that both the movies will mint huge money at the box office at least for the next few days.
