Thunivu: Here's when the trailer of Ajith Kumar's most-awaited action drama will be unveiled

The forthcoming Pongal festival is expected to be a grand one for fans of Ajith, as the star's Thunivu is hitting the screens on January 12. The H Vinoth directorial will be presented by Red Giant Movies across Tamil Nadu, while Lyca Productions has bagged its overseas rights. 

The makers have unveiled three singles from the action drama, and fans are now awaiting promo videos of the film. According to sources, the team has locked the release date of its trailer launch. The much-expected promo video will be unveiled on December 31.

The team has already revealed recently that they are coming up with huge plans as far as promotions are concerned. It is heard that the trailer might be screened at Burj Khalifa and New York Times Square. A grand pre-release event in Chennai is also likely in the offing.

Thunivu, starring Manju Warrier, Samuthirakani and John Kokken in key roles, marks the third collaboration of Ajith, director Vinoth and producer Boney Kapoor. Netflix had acquired the project's digital rights a few months ago. Its OTT premiere is expected to happen around mid February.       

Supreme Sundar's action choreography and Nirav Shah's visuals are expected to be a few highlights of the movie which has music composed by Ghibran. Thunivu will be released under the title Thegimpu in Telugu. The film will have a box office clash with Varisu in Tamil, while it will lock horns with Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya in Telugu.

A few stills from the film were released sometime ago, leaving Ajith fans thrilled. They have been taking to social media to express excitement over the trailer release.
