H Vinoth's Ajith Kumar-starrer Thunivu was dropped on Netflix yesterday in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi amid huge buzz on social media. As expected, the film which hit the screens on January 11, has turned out to be a rage on social media.
Fans of Ajith and others have been posting their favourite shots and dialogues from the movie on their Twitter pages. The film produced by Boney Kapoor has been trending on the social media platform ever since its OTT premiere. It's the movie's theme and racy first half which have been keeping viewers glued to it.
An unexpected appreciation for the film has now left fans surprised and elated. The Mayor of Ekiti, a city in Nigeria, seems to be smitten by the heist drama and has come up with a tweet on the movie from his official Twitter page. He also posted a picture of Thunivu from his LCD TV at home and mentioned that "This is the BEST Bollywood movie i have seen this year".
Several fans thanked him for the appreciation and expressed astonishment at the unanticipated tweet. A few also pointed out that the film is a Kollywood movie and not Bollywood.
Interestingly, many admirers of the Mayor thanked him for suggesting the film and a few of them shared their experiences of watching Indian movies like Baahubali before.
Thunivu is expected to create new records on Netflix in the coming days in terms of views. The OTT platform is likely to come up with data on the countries where the film has registered a humongous number of viewers soon.
