Team Thunivu is coming up with exciting announcements as days pass by. Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies officially announced bagging the movie's theatrical rights in Tamil Nadu recently. The news of Netflix bagging the film's digital rights, too, left movie buffs excited.
There has been various speculation doing the rounds on the project's overseas rights. Lyca Productions has now revealed that they have acquired the overseas theatrical rights of the movie. The social media page of the production house expressed excitement on teaming up with Boney Kapoor and Zee Studios who have bankrolled the film.
They also added that it's a pleasure to associate with Ajith Kumar, leaving his fans enthralled. Interestingly, Lyca Productions will be producing the star's next outing, tentatively titled AK 62, to be helmed by Vignesh Shivan. Though several figures are doing the rounds on social media with regard to the overseas rights, the production house is tight-lipped about it.
Fans are now waiting for the first single from Thunivu, which has been titled Chilla Chilla. Ghibran has composed music, while Anirudh and Vaisagh have lent voice and penned lyrics respectively for the peppy song. The composer recently revealed about the song's genre at the pre-release event of a film.
Thunivu brings Mollywood actress Manju Warrier back to Kollywood after her notable performance in Asuran. Kavin, Samuthirakani, Prem Kumar, John Kokken and Veera among others will be seen essaying key roles in the film which will hit the screens as a Pongal release.
However, the makers are yet to come up with the official release date, despite rumours of the film arriving on January 12, 2023.
