Leading Tamil producer SR Prabhu, who is known for picking content-oriented films, joined the list of people who continue to argue on which among Thunivu and Varisu has won the Pongal box office battle in Tamil Nadu. The Ajith-starrer and Vijay-starrer were released on January 11 and have opened to average reports.

Though both the films have their own share of highs and flaws, the H Vinoth directorial and Vamshi Paidipally directorial opened to big numbers at the Tamil Nadu box office. The movies performed well at a few overseas locations and domestic territories like Kerala and Karnataka as well.

Prabhu took to his social media page to share a funny aspect among the battle between fans of the stars. He pointed out that people are asking which movie has won the race during the festival when the occasion is two more days away.

His tweet read, "There are random people asking, who won the Pongal race!? Dude鈥he Pongal festival has 2 more days to start (sic)." Needless to say, many appreciated him for his realistic approach towards the argument which is laced with a sense of humour. However, a few asked him if he could say which film is leading, considering his know-how on various aspects in the industry.

On the day the films released, he had taken to his Twitter page to wish success and said that he was eagerly looking forward to watching them. His next awaited project is Karthi-starrer Japan which is being helmed by Raju Murugan.

Anu Emmanuel is playing the female lead in the movie, the first look of which was unveiled recently. The project will hit the screens later this year.
