Aditya Chopra wants 'no room for compromise' for Salman Khan and Shar Rukh Khan's face-off, pushes Tiger vs Pathaan 2026
The release of Tiger 3 came with a series of doubts regarding how much benefit a Friday release would have brought to the film. Despite receiving mixed reviews, Salman Khan's massive fan following and Yash Raj’s brand value made it possible for the film to achieve a collection that has crossed the Rs 400 crore mark already.
The New Update
Now, after the good collection of Tiger 3, there is a piece of news that might sadden fans of the Spy Universe. According to a Bollywood Hungama report, it has been revealed that the much-awaited collaboration between Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan has been further delayed. Tiger Vs Pathaan, which was supposed to be released in 2025, has been pushed to 2026.
"Tiger vs Pathaan was to start in March 2024, but Aditya Chopra has decided to personally take time to rework the script and serve the audience with better content. Once Siddharth Anand is done with Fighterpost-production, Adi will sit down with his director to improve the version of what has been written," a trade source told the publication.
Aditya Chopra Doesn't Want To Compromise
It was revealed that Aditya Chopra wants to put all his focus on Tiger vs Pathaan as he doesn’t want to ‘compromise. "Tiger is the most senior spy of the YRF Universe and the idea is to present it in a way that takes audiences on a ride. Aditya Chopra knows that the expectations will be off the roof in the audience for the face-off between Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan in Tiger vs Pathaan. There is no room for compromise and all the energies are invested to better the film," the trade source added.
The reports also suggest that the King Khan himself has suggested improvements. The reports further reveal, "Shah Rukh considers the YRF Universe to be close to his heart as Pathaan played a role in introducing his action image. He told Adi that he stood by his side and would be ready to shoot the film whenever Adi is ready with the script. Salman is also on the same page and hence green-lit the shoot timelines for Karan Johar's film from February 2024. Shah Rukh Khan in the meantime will be shooting for The King from January."
