Tovino Thomas, Kalyani Priyadarshan's Thallumala postponed; here's when the film will release

Thallumala, starring Tovino Thomas and Kalyani Priyadarshan, has been hitting headlines for various reasons ever since it went on floors. Now, the team has announced that the movie has postponed its theatrical release. The Khalid Rahman directorial which was supposed to hit the screens will arrive only on August 12.

Shine Tom Chacko, Sharafudheen, Lukman, Vineeth Kumar, Johny Antony and Binu Pappu among others essay important roles in the movie produced by Ashiq Usman. Muhsin Parari and Ashraf Hamza have jointly penned the screenplay for the project which will be distributed by Central Pictures in Kerala.

The film was in the news a few months ago when Shine Tom Chacko allegedly attacked a couple of people after he had a heated argument with onlookers. But he attended a press meet after a couple of days and cleared the air. Initially, one of the writers Muhsin Parari was supposed to be at the helm of Thallumala, with Aashiq Abu and Rima Kallingal being its producers.

But Khalid came on board as the director and Muhsin became the co-writer along with Ashraf Hamza. The film is Khalid's fourth directorial project after Anuraga Karikkin Vellam, Unda and Love.

The movie is Tovino's fourth release this year after Naaradan, Dear Friend and Vaashi. The Minnal Murali star is currently busy with Aashiq Abu's Neelavelicham which marks the actor-filmmaker duo's fourth collaboration.

For Kalyani, this is her third outing in 2022 after Hridayam and Bro Daddy. The vibrant first look posters of Thallumala, featuring both Tovino and Kalyani, were released a couple of months ago. Billed as a fun-filled entertainer, Jimshi Khalid has handled cinematography for the movie which has music composition by Vishnu Vijay and editing by Nishadh Yusuf.
