For the first time, Yash and Nayanthara are collaborating in a pan-Indian film titled Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups. Geetu Mohandas is directing the massively scaled production, and there's an intriguing update regarding the film's location.

Toxic setting and nostalgic feel

The film, set between the 1950s and 1970s, will have a nostalgic feel, according to an insider who spoke to HT City. Toxic takes place in a whole new universe, an exaggerated but faithful recreation of previous ages. Incredible attention to detail will wow viewers as they witness the set on the outskirts of Bengaluru.

According to reports, the drug mafia served as the setting for the action film. According to reports, after shooting portions of their upcoming schedule in Garden City, the crew will soon be heading to London.

Cast changes and plot

According to reports, Kareena Kapoor Khan would have played Yash's sister in the film, marking her South debut. Nevertheless, Nayanthara, who made her Bollywood debut in last year's Jawan, opposite Shah Rukh Khan, replaced the actor after she decided to back out. The latest reports suggest that part of the plot revolves around the relationship between the siblings.

Next year marks the film's release. Kiara Advani plays Yash's love interest, and Huma Qureshi and Shruti Haasan also play important parts.

Tone and treatment

Meanwhile, a few weeks ago, a source gave an update to Pinkvilla, stating that Yash and Nayanthara kicked off Toxic shoot in India. After this short run at actual Indian locations, the makers will hit the ground running in London. Geetu has scheduled 150 of Toxic's 200 days of filming in and around London. The crew is packing their bags and heading to the UK, where Toxic's most crucial moments will unfold.

Despite the character's status as an underworld don, the tone is quite modern and global. Toxic and the treatment have a central tension similar to the one in the cult-hit British series Peaky Blinders.
