Turbo, the action-comedy film that stars Mammootty in the lead role, has earned super-hit status at the box office. The movie, which is directed by Vysakh and penned by writer-filmmaker Midhun Manuel Thomas, has been performing well at the box office despite receiving mixed reviews. As per the recent updates, the Turbo box office collection is now set to cross Rs. 65 crore. Interestingly, the Mammootty starrer surpassed the lifetime collections of blockbuster Manjummel Boys, at the Saudi Arabia box office.
According to recent updates from trade experts, Turbo has surpassed the lifetime collections of the all-time blockbuster Manjummel Boys at the Saudi Arabia box office when it completed the first 8 days of its release. Mammootty and Vysakh’s mass action-comedy film has emerged as the all-time highest-grossing Malayalam film in the country. It is indeed a major achievement for the movie, which has been considered the megastar’s most underwhelming film in the post-pandemic period. A detailed collection breakdown is expected to be revealed soon.
As per the reports, Turbo is now all set to cross the Rs. 63 crore mark at the worldwide box office, when it completes the first 9 days of its release. The Kerala box office collection of the movie now stands at Rs. 26 crore. On the other hand, the overseas collection has reportedly touched the Rs. 33 crore mark. The recent updates also suggest that the Vysakh starrer made around Rs. 4 crore from the rest of India’s box office. So, it is safe to assume that Turbo will cross the Rs. 65 crore mark worldwide by its 10th day in theatres.
However, the early arrival of monsoon season in Kerala has indeed made things further difficult for the films that are currently running at the theatres in the states. All major releases of recent times, including Turbo, have witnessed a significant dip in Kerala box office collections due to the same. If things proceed at the same rate, Turbo might not be able to cross the Rs. 100 crore mark at the box office, as expected.
