Tusshar Kapoor joins Masti 4: 'Feels like college reunion, only wilder'

The cast of Masti has assembled in the UK for filming of the upcoming fourth installment, which stars Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, and Aftab Shivdasani. Tusshar Kapoor is the latest celebrity to join the cast of the sex comedy. Just two weeks ago, the actor joined the cast, yet he already feels comfortable in this genre, collaborating with his former co-stars once more.

Film unites familiar comedy collaborators

In an interview with Mid Day, Kapoor quips that it honestly feels like a college reunion, only wilder, when asked to describe his current experience on set.

Masti 4 is directed by Milap Zaveri and stars actors from different comedy series who have worked together before. Kapoor is certain that Deshmukh and Shivdasani's previously established connection will serve them well in the Masti universe because of their collaboration in the Kyaa Kool Hain Hum movies.

Tusshar Kapoor on joining the franchise

The actor said, "I have worked with all three actors separately before. So, there was no reason to be concerned about the chemistry between us. They welcomed me with open arms when I reached the outdoor venue. I’m sure the camaraderie and fun off-screen will reflect on-screen. Masti is a successful brand in the comedy genre, and I readily accepted Masti 4 after hearing a brief narration of the story and my role."

Kapoor, who has had several role changes recently and is now a parent, discussed the challenge of navigating adult comedies at this point in his career and life. He notes that the words and presentation greatly determine whether something is bold or crude.

Balancing bold content with family-friendly tone

He explains that the writers of Masti 4 made sure to appeal to a wide range of audiences by crafting an adult comedy that is nevertheless suitable for families. The actor shared that being authentic in his performance is crucial to his craft as an actor. Regarding the audacity of the project, his director is more concerned about the boundaries of the Masti universe than he is.

With Masti 4, the creators aim to bring back the youthful spirit of the early 2000s while staying in sync with modern tastes. Kapoor's appearance changes things a bit, bringing with it the promise of more risqué humour that's nostalgic and chaotic.
