Udaipur Files: Kanhaiya Lal Tailor Murder has been garnering significant attention ever since it was announced, and following this, when the movie was all set to be released on July 11, it faced a stay on release as Mohammad Javed, one of the accused in the murder case, filed an appeal. However, the Delhi High Court has dismissed the appeal, and the film made its way to the theaters on August 8. Although there is no official confirmation, here's what we know about the OTT release date for Udaipir Files.

As per reports, Udaipur Files is expected to land on ZEE5 after its theatrical run. Once and if it is released on that platform, you can also stream the film with your OTTplay Premium subscription. Meanwhile, the standard rule for OTT release of a theatrical movie is an 8-week window after its initial theatrical release. This means that a movie is only shown in theaters for at least eight weeks before being made available on streaming platforms. However, the specific period may vary.

If it follows the 8-week window, Udaipur Files can be expected to land on the OTT platform around the first week of October.

The appeal that was made to delay the release of the Udaipur Files movie focused on the potential impact on the ongoing trial of the Kanhaiya Lal murder case. The defendants in the case argued that the release of the film could harm the trial by influencing witnesses and the court. 

While allowing the release of the movie, the High Court said that the screening of the film would not cause any harm. “Trial will be conducted by the judge uninfluenced as a trained judge. He has failed to establish how irreparable loss will be caused to him if release is not stayed. Prayer for staying release is hereby rejected," it said.

The movie, directed by Bharat S Shrinate and Jayant Sinha, and produced by Amit Jani, is now running in theaters. Udaipur Files stars Vijay Raaz, Rajneesh Duggal, Preeti Jhangiani, Kamlesh Sawant, Kanchi Singh, and Mushtaq Khan.
