Udhayanidhi, Fahadh's Maamannan wraps up first schedule; Mari Selvaraj reveals much-awaited update

A while ago, director Mari Selvaraj had officially announced that his next project has been titled Maamannan and that Udhayanidhi will play the lead role in it. Keerthy Suresh has been roped in to play female lead in the movie which has Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu essaying crucial characters.

The legendary comedian joined the crew recently and fans are now waiting for Fahadh's entry. Maamannan marks the third directorial project of Mari after Pariyerum Perumal (streaming on Amazon Prime Video) and Karnan (streaming on Amazon Prime Video). None other than AR Rahman has been brought on board to compose music for the movie. Santhosh Narayanan was the music director for Mari's first two movies.

The acclaimed filmmaker has now announced that the team has wrapped up its first schedule. A couple of pictures from the location are doing the rounds on social media in which the crew members are seen having a gala time.

A couple of weeks ago, Vadivelu's photos from the film's location went viral in no time as soon as they appeared on social media. Though Naai Sekar Returns is considered to be the veteran actor's comeback vehicle, it has to be seen which among Maamannan and the former will make it to theatres first.

The movie marks Fahadh's fourth project in Kollywood after Velaikkaran (streaming on Disney+ Hotstar), Super Deluxe (streaming on Netflix) and the upcoming film Vikram. This is the first time Keerthy is teaming up with Fahadh and Udhayanidhi.

Maamannan is expected to release in theatres later this year. The film is being produced by Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies which is currently in the news for bagging the theatrical rights of Vijay-starrer Beast which is set to release on April 13.
