The audio launch of Mari Selvaraj's upcoming film, Maamannan, was held in a  grand manner last evening. The launch was attended by the who's who of the industry.

Speaking at the audio launch, the film's lead actor Udhayanidhi Stalin said that Maamannan will have Mari Selvaraj's politics. "This film will have more politics than his previous two ventures (Pariyerum Perumal and Karnan).

Udhayanidhi added that Vaigai Puyal Vadivelu will be seen in a crucial role in the film. "When you watch the film, you will realise that while Fahadh, Keerthy and I are standing on side, Vadivelu sir shines on the frame."

The actor, who called Maamannan his last outing, said, "As of now, the plan is to make this my last acting venture. After I became a minister (Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development), I had to opt out of Kamal Haasan sir's production as well as it was not appropriate. If I ever act in films again, it will be in a Mari Selvaraj's film. But for the next three years, there will be no films for me. After that, it 's the people's call."

The actor added that he had too much work to do in politics. "I could find time only for the audio launch and dubbing of Maamannan.”

Mari Selvaraj stated that his films will continue to have his politics, no matter which genre the film is made in. "If Udhayanidhi sir acts again, I will definitely work with him." He added that he was awaiting the film's release.

Music for the film is by AR Rahman and Maamannan marks his maiden collaboration with Mari Selvaraj. The film, which is bankrolled by Udhayanidhi Stalin, will release in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. The digital rights have been bagged by Netflix.
