Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies acquires theatrical rights of Kamal Haasan's Vikram in Tamil Nadu

It was announced recently that Kamal Haasan-starrer Vikram which has been directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj will release in theatres on June 3. Produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, the movie stars Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Kaalidas, Narain and Shivani Narayanan among others in pivotal roles.

Billed as an action movie, Vikram is Kamal's return to the silver screen after a hiatus of around four years. Vishwaroopam 2, (streaming on Disney+ Hotstar), directed by himself, was his last movie which was released in theatres. Though Shankar's magnum opus Indian 2 was supposed to release earlier, many factors spoiled the makers' plans because of which the film's shooting is still pending.

Fans of Kamal Haasan are eagerly awaiting the release of Vikram as they hope it will be the perfect comeback for their matinee idol. The social media account of Udhayanidhi's production house Red Giant Movies has now announced that they have bagged the theatrical rights of the movie in Tamil Nadu.

Their tweet read, "Red Giant Movies is delighted to associate with #Ulaganayagan @ikamalhaasan for the Tamil Nadu Theatrical distribution of #Vikram #VikramFromJune3 #Aarambikalangala (sic)."

Red Giant Movies has been acquiring Tamil Nadu theatrical rights of almost all biggies which announced release recently. Suriya's Etharkkum Thunindhavan, Prabhas' Radhe Shyam and Vijay's Beast were a few biggies which were bagged by the production house in recent times.

The production company is currently producing Mari Selvaraj's Maamannan which stars Udhayanidhi himself in the lead role. Fahadh Faasil, Vadivelu and Keerthy Suresh play important characters in the movie which has music composed by AR Rahman. The first schedule of the film was wrapped up a few days ago and Red Giant Movies had provided an update on the same for film lovers recently.
