What is the premise of Untold: Breaking Point?
The season finale of the sports documentary series will chronicle the career of American Tennis player Mardy Fish. It will look at not only his professional accomplishments but also the personal demons he battles.
Mardy Fish had had a stellar professional career, making a name for himself by becoming America’s number one tennis player at one point. But unknown to the public, the player had been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and had to deal with several mental health struggles off the court. At the time when talking about mental illness was still a taboo topic, Fisher had to put on a brave face and put his ordeals under wraps. He once had such a severe panic attack at the height of his career that he had to pull out of a match with the legendary Roger Federer. As Netflix puts it, his struggles with his mental health were indeed life-changing.
Untold has been lauded for its realistic portrayal of the life of sportsmen, without compromising on good storytelling. The show had featured Christy Martin, Caitlyn Jenner and Ron Artest, among other sports personalities, in its previous episodes.
