Gadar 2 actress Ameesha Patel has landed in a controversy just ahead the release of her patriotic film starring Sunny Deol in the lead role. In a recent interview with news portal Bollywood Hungama, Ameesha hailed her upcoming film for being a family-friendly film. She quipped that films and web shows these days can’t be watched with family as they have excess of content promoting the LGBTQIA+ community.
This remark by Ameesha Patel has not gone down well with a section of social media users, including fashion influencer Uorfi Javed, who claims that Patel is homophobic in her thought processes.
Unhappy with Ameesha’s remarks, Uorfi schooled the actor on Instagram and said, “What is actually gayism, lesbianism? Keep your children away from it? So, when she said ‘kaho na Pyar hai’, she meant only straight people. Public figures speaking without educating themselves on such sensitive topics really irks me! Not getting work for 25 years has made her into a very bitter person.”
This development between the two stars has sparked an online debate.
On HT City’s Instagram post, one person wrote, “Look who is judging Ameesha. Heights!” Another person commented, “What the hell Ameesha! Some people are born gay. Deal with it!”
Such endless conversations continue to throng Instagram and Twitter.
