In 2019, filmmaker Aditya Dhar marked his directorial debut with Uri: The Surgical Strike, an action-packed film centered on the 2016 Uri attack. The movie featured Bollywood superstar Vicky Kaushal, actress Yami Gautam, and actor Paresh Rawal in significant roles, and was produced by Ronnie Screwvala under the RSVP Movies banner. Uri raked in ₹2.4 billion (US$30 million) in India and surpassed ₹3.5 billion (US$44 million) worldwide. For his remarkable direction, Dhar clinched the National Film Award for Best Director. As anticipation mounts for his next directorial venture, a recent report hints that filming for Dhar's upcoming project is slated to commence in June 2024.

Aditya Dhar’s second directorial to begin filming in June 2024

According to a report published by Pinkvilla this evening, Aditya Dhar’s next directorial will begin the shooting stage in June 2024. Though details of the project have not been revealed yet, Yami Gautam – Dhar's wife, expressed that she is excited to know the story of the project.

“Believe me, that’s the only time I felt I wish I was a guy. I know the story and it’s a world that you have not seen before. Knowing the kind of creative force Aditya is, we have all the right to ask him to do something completely different from the film, Uri. Being predictable or pattern has never been his thing and I am excited for what’s coming up next,” said Yami to the news outlet.

Currently, on the professional front, Yami is looking forward to her upcoming theatrical – Article 370. This film is produced by Aditya Dhar and is slated to be released theatrically next week, February 23.
