Vaa Vaathiyaar is now streaming on Prime Video, within just two weeks of its theatrical run. The Karthi-starrer film which crashed at the box office, becoming one of the lowest grossing, is directed by Nalan Kumarasamy. Even with much anticipations, Vaa Vaathiyaar failed to impress audience, and its OTT reception is reflective of its theatrical run.

Vaa Vaathiyaar is the latest addition to the Tamil OTT space. The film is now available on Prime Video in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. Directed by Nalan Kumarasamy, Vaa Vaathiyaar premiered within two weeks of its theatrical run.

From being called an 'incomplete movie' to 'timepass watch', netizens feel Vaa Vaathiyaar had exploited its plot wrongly. Here are more reactions.

Vaa Vaathiyaar: What is the plot about?

Vaa Vaathiyaar is a comedy action drama about an ardent MGR fan (played by Rajkiran) who dotes after his grandson Ramu. Believing him to be a reincarnation of the yesteryear star, the grandfather brings him up with those heroic values. However, Ramu grows up to become a corrupt cop, only to come back to right aways through his alter ego that shares similarities with MGR.

The film marks the Tamil debut of actor Krithi Shetty who plays the female lead. It also has Sathyaraj, Raj Kiran, Anandraj, Shilpa Manjunath, Karunakaran, G.M. Sundar, Ramesh Thilak, Nivas Adithan, and Vadivukkarasi, Nizhalgal Ravi, Thenappan PL, and others.

Meanwhile, Karthi has a few films in the line-up including spy action thriller Sardar 2, directed by PS Mithran. Karthi also has a film with Tamizh, titled Marshal. The release dates for both the films are yet to be announced.
