Actor Karthi's long-pending Vaa Vaathiyaar film has finally gotten an update. The film, which has been in the making for a while and is awaiting release, will soon hit theatres. The makers on Monday announced that the film will release in December this year.
Vaa Vaathiyaar release window is out:
We had earlier reported that Karthi will be headlining a film titled Vaa Vaathiyaar. The film is helmed by Nalan Kumarasamy, who has earlier made critically acclaimed films like Soodhu Kavvum, and Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum.
On Monday, the makers had announced that Vaa Vaathiyaar will release in theatres in December 2026. The release date for the film is yet to be announced, but it is likely that the makers are aiming for a Christmas release. The makers are expected to roll out more updates after Diwali, and closer to release.
It is to be noted that Vaa Vaathiyaar is Nalan’s comeback after nine long years, given his last theatrical release was the 2016 film Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum. The filmmaker had also directed a segment in the Tamil anthology film Kutty Story in 2020. Nothing much about the plot has been revealed, but it is expected that Vaa Vaathiyaar will be in Nalan’s trademark style of quirkiness and black comedy.
