Venky Atluri's Vaathi, starring Dhanush in the titular role, was released on Friday and has opened to decent reports from critics and moviegoers. The film was released simultaneously in Telugu as well under the title Sir. Samyuktha plays the female lead in the project which stars Samuthirakani, Tanikella Bharani, Saikumar and Sumanth in key roles.

Veteran filmmaker Bharathiraja has now showered praises on the movie after watching it. The makers have released a short video which has the legendary director talking in detail about a few aspects of the film. Interestingly, he had also made a brief appearance in the project.

The video begins with him saying that a few works have left him astounded in his illustrious career. Vaathi, according to him, is one such work which left him impressed. He believes that cinema should play a vital role in shaping up the society apart from the entertainment it offers and that Vaathi has succeeded in it.

All praise on Dhanush's talent as an actor, lyricist and singer, Raja said that the former is also a thoughtful person. He opined that Samuthirakani essayed his character convincingly while Samyuktha aced the role of a teacher perfectly.

He also praised musician GV Prakash for his music in Vaathi and wished the young composer to win a National Award for his impactful background score. He added that Vaathi is one of the best films he watched in recent times and expressed excitement on sharing screen presence with GV Prakash in a forthcoming project.

The makers of the movie had announced officially the other day that the film had grossed 51 crores in its first three days from across the world.
