Vaathi: The digital rights of Dhanush, Samyuktha's bilingual film have been bagged by THIS leading platform

With Venky Atluri's Vaathi, Dhanush has forayed into Tollywood market as well. The film, which has been released in Tamil and Telugu today, has opened to encouraging response from critics and moviegoers. The project, which has Dhanush essaying the role of a teacher, stars Samyuktha, Samuthirakani, Tanikella Bharani and Sai Kumar in crucial roles.

GV Prakash's background score, Yuvraj's cinematography and Naveen Nooli's editing deserve praise while Venkat's action choreography is decent. Dhanush's effortless portrayal of the central character is the prime highlight of the movie which has hit around 1,000 screens in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

A few weeks ago, fans of Dhanush felt that Vaathi lacked adequate promotions and they expressed the same on social media. However, the makers organized an audio launch in Chennai followed by similar events in Hyderabad after which the film generated a lot of buzz.

Dhanush's speech at the event held in Chennai and his singing style at the affair held in Hyderabad turned out to be popular on social media and trended for several days. The movie, titled as Sir in Telugu, is the actor's first outing this year.

The makers were tight-lipped about the digital partner of the project. But post its release today, it is no more a secret. Netflix has bagged the film's OTT rights and an announcement on the digital premiere will be made in a few weeks' time.

Shah Ra, Hyper Aadi, Sumanth and Ken Karunas are other actors who are seen in notable characters in the project which is expected to be a gamechanger for Dhanush in Tollywood. He is all set to begin his second directorial project soon.
