Vaathi trailer: Dhanush plays a lone warrior who fights against education scam in this bilingual drama

Dhanush's first release of the year, Vaathi, is all set to hit the screens on February 17. The bilingual movie directed by Venky Atluri has been produced by Naga Vamsi S and Sai Soujanya under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas respectively.

The audio launch of the film was held recently and fans of the actor are now elated with makers unveiling its trailer. The two-minute promo video offers a sneak peek into the project's plot. It revolves around an earnest teacher who takes up a serious fight against a powerful and merciless businessman who is into education scam.  

Samuthirakani plays the antagonist in the movie which will be released in Tamil and Telugu. The latter version will hit the screens under the title Sir. The film brings Dhanush and Samuthirakani together after Maaran which had a direct release on Disney+ Hotstar last year.

GV Prakash has composed music for Vaathi which has Samyuktha essaying the female lead in it. J Yuvraj and Navin Nooli have handled cinematography and editing respectively. Venkat is in charge of action sequences in the movie. Sai Kumar, Tanikella Bharani, Shara, Aadukalam Naren and Ilavarasu among others essay crucial characters in the project.

Movie buffs were surprised with the lack of adequate promotions for Vaathi recently, but makers have upped their game in the last few days. The trade is eagerly looking at the numbers the film is going to bring to the table.

Dhanush, who is currently busy with Arun Matheswaran's Captain Miller, will join his 50th film under Sun Pictures' production soon. He will also start his sophomore directorial venture this year which has Kalidas and Dushara Vijayan playing lead roles after Natchathiram Nagargiradhu.
