The latest Malayalam film, Vadakkan, is set to be available for streaming in Tamil and Telugu. The paranormal thriller film, which stars Kantara actor Kishore Kumar, will start streaming on Aha Tamil and OTTplay Premium from June 6, 2025, the platform has announced. Where to stream Vadakkan in Tamil and Telugu

Vadakkan, which released in theatres on March 7, 2025, after a good festival run, made its OTT debut on Prime Video in May but the film was available in Malayalam, Kannada and English. But now viewers can watch the Malayalam horror thriller in Tamil and Telugu on Aha from June 6, Friday. The film will also be available on OTTplay Premium in Tamil and Telugu with English subtitles.

Vadakkan plot

Directed by Sajeed A, Vadakkan follows Kannada actor Kishore as a Helsinki-based paranormal investigator who heads to a remote island as he probes mysterious deaths and comes across an enigmatic entity.

Shruthy Menon and Merin Philip also feature in other key roles in this film, which is a tantalizing blend of myth, horror and thrilling elements. North Malabar folklore Theyyam is also integral to the film, which stays clear of stereotypes and does not have the usual trope of yakshis in white sarees.

Apart from the lead actors’ performances, Vadakkan has a strong technical crew. Oscar-winning Resul Pookkutty’s sound design, Keiko Nakahara’s brilliant cinematography, and Bijibal’s music add to providing a wholesome cinematic experience. Unni R, who has penned Mammootty-starrer Munnariyippu and Dulquer Salmaan's Charlie, has also scripted the horror thriller. Fans of supernatural thrillers should definitely check out Vadakkan, which is rooted in Kerala.

Vadakkan had a good festival run and won awards, including at the 2024 Fright Night Film Fest held in Kentucky.
