Valathu Vashathe Kallan vs Prakambanam box office day 4: Over a month into 2026, we are yet to see a major hit at the Kerala box office. Director Jeethu Joseph-helmed Valathu Vashathe Kallan and Prakambanam are the latest releases. On their first Monday, both films saw a drop in their earnings, but Valathu Vashathe Kallan saw a bigger drop than the horror comedy.

Valathu Vashathe Kallan made only Rs 0.38 crore on day 4 at the box office, as per trade tracker Sacnilk. This is a 66.9 per cent drop from day 3, when it collected Rs 1.15 crore. On the other hand, Prakambanam did comparatively better, earning Rs 0.68 crore on day 4 at the box office, as per Sacnilk figures.

The news about Valathu Vashathe Kallan’s drop in earnings comes even as director Jeethu Joseph has spoken out against the negative reviews targeting his thriller film. Senior actors Biju Menon and Joju George play the lead roles in the film, which revolves around a cunning cop, Antony, whose paths cross with that of a murder victim’s father, Samuel. How Samuel takes revenge on the cop and brings out his previous crimes are depicted in the film. However, the film opened to mixed reviews. While most viewers have been praising the lead actors' performances, the execution has been panned by certain sections. Lena, Irshad and Leona Lishoy are the other actors in the cast.

On other hand, Prakambanam narrates a horror comedy tale set in a college hostel. Three laid-back youngsters and how their lives get upended when one of them gets possessed are depicted in the film, which is being tagged as a fun film, despite its shortcomings.

Actors Ganapathi, Sagar Surya, and Ameen play the college youths, while senior actors Mallika Sukumaran, Azees Nedumangad, and Rajesh Madhavan are also part of the cast. Prakambanam was also the last film of late actor Kalabhavan Navas.
