Though Varisu opened to mixed reports among critics and moviegoers, the film managed to draw the audience, thanks to its family-friendly content, presence of many stars and relatable emotions. The film, despite clashing with Thunivu, emerged winner in several territories.
The Vijay-starrer helmed by Vamshi Paidipally was released in Telugu, too, under the title Vaarasudu, and put up a decent performance at Tollywood box office as well. A few days ago, the film's production house announced officially that it has grossed 250 crores worldwide. Many exhibitors in Tamil Nadu have been taking to their social media pages to express contentment over the movie's successful run.
Now, team Varisu has come together to spend some quality time with each other. Radhika Sarathkumar posted a few pics of the movie's director Vamshi, producer Dil Raju, music director Thaman, Vijay, Rashmika, Sarath Kumar and Prabhu among others having a gala time.
She also posed for separate pics with Vijay and Rashmika, leaving fans excited. Actors Srikanth, Sangeetha and Shaam were a few others who were present at the get-together. With the hashtags #VarisuBlockbuster, #TamilCinema and #friends, she tweeted, "a fun evening watching the team bond together with so much of laughter (sic)."
The movie marks the Kollywood debut of director Vamshi and producer Raju. Though the former had made a Tamil-Telugu bilingual a few years ago, this is his first straight Tamil movie. Raju had courted controversy a while ago when he said that Vijay is the numero uno star in Tamil and demanded more screens for Varisu in Tamil Nadu.
He was massively trolled on social media as fans of Rajinikanth and Ajith were unhappy with his irresponsible statement. However, he stood by his statement.
