Varisu on Prime: Here's when the Hindi version of the Thalapathy Vijay-starrer will drop on the platform

Varisu, which grossed around 300 crores from across the world, dropped on Amazon Prime Video today. The Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam versions of Vamshi Paidipally directorial is currently streaming on the platform. The Telugu version has been titled Vaarasudu while Kannada and Malayalam versions are titled Vaarasdara and Vamshajan respectively.

Vijay's screen presence, background score by Thaman and a few emotional scenes are highlights of the movie which was released in theatres on January 11. Dil Raju has bankrolled the project under the banner Sri Venkateswara Creations.

Rashmika Mandanna, Sarath Kumar, Prakash Raj and Jayasudha have played important roles in the film which was distributed by Seven Screen Studio and Red Giant Movies across Tamil Nadu. The movie went on to collect around 150 crores in the state while it performed decently in Tollywood and Bollywood box office, too.

Varisu is said to have surpassed Bigil and emerged as the highest grosser in Vijay's career and there are reports of the star joining hands with the makers for another project. Fans of the star are curious to know how the family drama will be received on OTT.

Meanwhile, there are those who are upset with the lack of Hindi version of Varisu on Amazon Prime Video. The OTT giant has now announced that it will be dropped on the platform on March 8. This has evoked mixed reactions on social media; though many are elated with the announcement, there are those who opine that the makers should have ensured a simultaneous release.
