Vasanthi out on OTT: Here's where to watch Swasika's acclaimed movie online

Vasanthi, a Malayalam film, has finally debuted digitally years after its International Film Festival of Kerala premiere in 2021. Manorama Max is currently streaming the critically acclaimed film, in which Swasika plays the lead.

The film was much anticipated for its Manorama Max debut, even though it did not have a theatrical release. It was confirmed last month that Manorama Max has acquired Vasanthi's digital rights and would shortly begin offering the movie from the end of August. Following its OTT distribution, Vasanthi is also expected to gain more attention that it deserves for its raw narrative and performances.

The film, which was helmed by Shinos and Sajas Rahman, centres on Vasanthi's struggle against male control at every stage of her life. Her memories of the several men she encountered after abandoning her mother's place are portrayed in this acclaimed project. It stars Swasika Vijay as Vasanthi, with supporting performances from Siju Wilson, Shabareesh Varma, Sivaji Guruvayoor, Vinod Thomas, Madhu Umalayalam, Sreela Nalledam, and Malavika Malghosh. Vasanthi took home three honours at the 50th Kerala State Film Awards in 2019.

Swasika, meanwhile, recently starred in the Telugu flick Thammudu, Tamil films Maaman and Retro. The actress received accolades for her emotive portrayal of Girija Ravi in the Soori-starring film Maaman, which is available to stream on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium.

Both Manasa Vacha and Vysanasametham Bandhumithradhikal were made accessible on Manorama Max this month.
