The makers of Vattam had announced a few weeks ago that the film will skip theatrical release and that it will drop on Disney+ Hotstar soon. The team has now unveiled the movie's trailer and announced its OTT release date as July 29.

Madhubana Kadai fame Kamalakannan has directed the film which is billed as a suspense thriller starring SIbiraj, Andrea Jeremiah and Athulya Ravi playing lead roles in it. SR Prakashbabu and SR Prabhu have bankrolled the project under the banner of Dream Warrior Pictures.

Going by the two-minute trailer, Vattam revolves around a youngster (Sibiraj) who develops an aversion towards women after a heartbreak. How a situation demands him to loot money to save his life and a few others forms the rest of the story. Andrea, who plays his pair in the movie, is seen questioning him for treating women as sex objects.

Vamsi Krishna and Balasaravanan also essay crucial roles in the project which has cinematography by PV Shankar and editing by T Shivanandeeswaran. Nivas K Prasanna has composed music for Vattam which has Sudesh choreographing action sequences. Shrinivas Kavinayam has penned the script for the film along with director Kamalakannan.

N Satheesh Kumar, who came up with an impressive work in the recent Kamal Haasan-starrer Vikram, has been roped in to helm art direction for the movie. Vattam marks the digital debut of Sibiraj who was seen in theatrical releases Ranga and Maayon earlier this year.

On the other hand, Andrea, who had made her OTT debut in 2020 with Amazon Prime Video's Putham Pudhu Kaalai, is awaiting the release of the SonyLIV original Anal Mele Pani Thuli as well. She currently has around half-a-dozen films in her kitty.
