Veetla Vishesham is a project which has made Tamil movie lovers excited ever since it was announced by RJ Balaji. The film which marked his second directorial venture along with NJ Saravanan has the actor playing lead role in, too. Though it was known to all that the movie is the remake of Bollywood flick Badhaai Ho, there have been good expectations on it ever since it went on floors.

The film, which was released on June 17 in theatres, opened to positive response among critics and the audience. The performances of Urvashi and Sathyaraj are prime highlights of the movie which has witnessed some changes compared to the original version.

Veetla Vishesham, bankrolled by leading producer Boney Kapoor, is considered as one of the few profitable Tamil films this year. The movie started streaming on Zee5 from July 15, and it looks like the film is garnering huge response on OTT as well.

The digital platform has announced that the movie has clocked two crore streaming minutes ever since it dropped on Friday. This is an impressive figure considering the fact that Veetla Vishesham isn't a big ticket flick. The movie is Balaji's first theatrical release in the pandemic era. His first directorial venture, Mookuthi Amman, had a direct OTT release in 2020, during the first wave of the pandemic.

One of the reasons why Veetla Vishesham enjoyed pre-release buzz is because of the aggressive promotions spearheaded by RJ Balaji. The popular host-turned-actor-filmmaker has been regularly posting innovative promo videos from his social media pages, keeping film lovers glued.

Yogi Babu, KPAC Lalitha, George Maryan, Aparna Balamurali and Pugazh among others play pivotal characters in the film which has music by Girishh Gopalakrishnan, cinematography by Karthik Muthukumar and editing by Selva RK.
