Velan teaser: Mugen Rao makes his debut as a typical commercial hero with this family drama

Mugen Rao, who was the title winner of Bigg Boss Tamil 3, went on to earn a lot of fans after his stint with the show. When a project was announced with him playing the lead, marking his acting debut, there was good expectations among movie buffs as expected. It was revealed earlier that the film titled Velan will have Mugen sporting two looks. 

Meenakshi Govindarajan plays female lead in the movie which has Prabhu, Sriranjani, Soori and Mariya Vincent among others essaying key roles. Both Mugen and Meenakshi will be playing college students in Velan which has music by Gopi Sundar and cinematography by Gopi Jagadeeswaran.           

The makers have now unveiled the teaser of the film through Suriya's Twitter account. The actor wished the team and expressed his admiration towards Prabhu. He tweeted, "Hearty wishes and respects to #ActorPrabhu na, who loves everyone like his own!! Wishes to team Velan!" 

The one-minute teaser of the movie, set against the backdrop of a village, has Mugen playing a typical run-of-the-mill hero, fighting the baddies, dancing with several junior artists and romancing the heroine. The excited actor took to Twitter to share the happiness and thank Suriya for releasing the teaser. 

He tweeted, "Always admired his dedication, work, personality and genuine kindness. Thank you @Suriya_offl sir for releasing #Velan teaser, I'm blessed. Thank you Universe and thank you everyone for your love and support, truly means a lot to me!" Mahesh Mathew has choreographed action sequences for Velan which has K Sarathkumar handling editing. 

It was revealed earlier that Soori plays a hardcore fan of Mammootty in the film. His character in the movie is named 'Mammookka’ Dineshan. A character poster of the actor from the film was unveiled earlier by the makers.
