Director Venkat Prabhu had announced a while ago that he is making his Telugu debut with a movie which will have Naga Chaitanya essaying the lead role in it. Tentatively titled NC 22, the makers roped in Ilaiyaraaja and Yuvan Shankar Raja to score music for the project.

This is the second time the father-son duo has come together to compose music after Vijay Sethupathi's Maamanithan which was released earlier this year. Krithi Shetty is playing the female lead in NC 22; she is joining hands with Naga Chaitanya after Bangarraju.

The team went on floors recently in Mysore, and a picture of cinematographer SR Kathir posing for a photo with the camera on location went viral on social media. We now hear that actor Jiiva has been brought on board to essay a crucial character in the project.

He is now busy with the reality show Sarkar With Jiiva. Interestingly, Venkat Prabhu was one of the few guests who appeared in the first episode of the show. NC 22 is being made in Tamil and Telugu, and film lovers are eager to know if Jiiva would appear in both the versions. The actor's last outing was Bollywood flick 83, and is awaiting the release of a couple of Tamil movies. 

Yannick Ben and Mahesh Mathew are handling action choreography for NC 22 which has Venkat Raajen in charge of editing. The film is expected to hit the screens in 2023. Earlier, there were reports that Venkat Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya are teaming up for the remake of the former's Tamil hit film Maanaadu (streaming on SonyLIV).

The former's last outing was Manmatha Leelai (streaming on aha Tamil) while the latter was previously seen in Bangarraju (streaming on Zee5).
