Venom: The Last Dance, which had its theatrical release in October of this year, has finally made it to OTT. Yes, there's a catch, of course; the superhero flick is available to rent on multiple OTT platforms, including BookMyShow Stream, Prime Video, and ZEE5 (OTTplay Premium) at Rs. 299.

Script, direction, and cast

Kelly Marcel wrote the script and directed Venom: The Last Dance. It stars Venom, a character from Marvel Comics, with Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock and the titular role, alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Stephen Graham, Peggy Lu, Clark Backo, Alanna Ubach, and Andy Serkis. This is the fifth film in Sony's Spider-Man Universe (SSU). It follows Venom (2018) and Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021), and it is the last installment of the Venom trilogy.

Plot synopsis

For the third and final installment of the trilogy, Venom: The Last Dance, Eddie has gone into hiding with Venom. Venom and Eddie's final dance will come to an end when they must make a fatal decision, with both their worlds pursuing them and the net closing in.

Production came to a standstill the next month as a result of the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike; however, it was only in November that production got back on track. The film's production concluded at the end of February 2024, and the announcement of the title followed a month later.

Venom: The Last Dance became the tenth highest-grossing film of 2024 with a global total of $472 million, despite critical ambivalence.

Future of the franchise and hints of new storylines

According to Kelly Marcel, who spoke about the film's October 2024 release date, The Last Dance wraps up Eddie Brock and Venom's story arc but begins the story of Knull, who will make future appearances inside the SSU. Even though the film was meant to be the last installment of the Venom trilogy, Hardy hinted at a potential future return to the role and a possible crossover with Spider-Man, stating, "Never say never."
