Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal, who got married in December 2021, make for one of Bollywood’s most charming couples. In a recent conversation with The Week, Vicky’s father Sham Kaushal spoke about their amazing daughter-in-law, and how she has tried to adapt to the Kaushal household, including learning to speak Punjabi and more.
In the interview with the publication, Vicky Kaushal also talked about his wife Katrina Kaif and pointed out that both have similar principles in life.
Katrina Kaif understands Punjabi perfectly
In the interview, Sham Kaushal told The Week, "She tries speaking in Punjabi at home and understands it perfectly." He also added that now he feels proud to introduce himself as the father of Vicky and Sunny, and the father-in-law of Katrina Kaif, not just as an action director anymore.
Katrina-Vicky have similar life principles
Talking about his wife during the interview, Vicky said, "Katrina comes from a completely different geography.” However, he was quick to point out that both have similar core life values and principles. For instance, Vicky comes from a middle-class background where values are placed on what one possesses and hard work. “When we have family get-togethers, the difference is only linguistic. Actually, I was taken by surprise when I got to interact with her; it is not what it seems from afar,” quipped Vicky. Admitting that he really liked Katrina for a very long time, he said that he would have been in love with her even if she was an astronaut, not an actor.

Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal’s upcoming projects
Katrina Kaif previously starred in Salman Khan's Tiger 3. In the franchise's third installment, she played Zoya once again. Her most recent appearance was with Vijay Sethupathi in Merry Christmas. She will now appear with Priyanka Chopra and Alia Bhatt in Farhan Akhtar's Jee Le Zara.
On the other hand, Vicky Kaushal last starred in Sam Bahadur. He recently signed for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film Love and War alongside Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor. He'll soon be seen alongside Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk in Bad Newz. In the teaser of Bad Newz, Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk look their funkiest. The movie, directed by Anand Tiwari, is scheduled to hit the theatres on July 19, 2024.
