Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar's upcoming movie Vidaa Muyarchi went on the floors on October 4. The project was in limbo for various reasons. Even though the film went into production after a long delay, the fans of Ajith seem to be still anxious.

The cast and crew flew to Azerbaijan to start shooting for the movie. However the country, which is the former Soviet republic, seems to be experiencing unrest, with reports of clashes between Lebanese Armenians and the nation's riot police. This unsettling information has raised alarms among Ajith's fan base.

"Easily the worst time for #VidaaaMuyarchi cast and crew to be in Azerbaijan . Many outlets reporting an ethnic cleansing by the country against Armenians ! Not sure who advised the team to shoot in that country at this bad bad time!," tweeted industry tracker and actor Prashanth Rangaswamy.

Fans no need to worry

However, there seems to be more to the issue than meets the eye. A journalist named Devendran Palanisamy underplayed the issue suggesting that the ongoing conflict in the country is unlikely to affect the production or cause safety issues for the movie's cast and crew. He noted that Thalapathy Vijay's Beast was shot in Georgia, which was under Russia's occupation. He also drew parallels with border tensions between India and China, as well as India and Pakistan, to emphasise that such political matters typically do not affect movie production in India.

"I believe #VidaaMuyarchi team is in #Baku - the Capital of Azerbaijan 🇦🇿 in the far east.. The conflict happened in the far west Nagarno - Karabakh region.. 100,000 Armenians have already left.. The conflict is over.. Azerbaijan has secured the region.. It's like one region.. Rest of the country is fine.. Hopefully shouldn't be an issue..," explained another industry tracker Ramesh Bala on X, formerly Twitter.

Bankrolled by Lyca Productions, Vidaa Muyarchi is helmed by Magizh Thirumeni. The movie stars Trisha as the female lead.
