Actor Vikrant Massey has become an internet sensation after the release of his latest film, 12th Fail, which was been a sleeper hit. The movie, with Vikrant Massey playing the title role and Vidhu Vinod Chopra directing it, has received an independent Oscar nomination. Prior to appearing on Sahitya AajTak 2023, Vikrant himself confirmed this.
On Sahitya AajTak, Vikrant discussed the difficulties he faced in films. In an interview on IndiaToday, Vikrant said that he began his film career at the age of 15 because he had to find a job. He was clear that he didn't want his father to bear the financial burden of his tuition.
All the reviews for 12th Fail were positive upon its release. At the early screenings, the movie was hailed as 'The Best Film of the Year 2023' and was met with standing ovations. Vidhu Vinod Chopra and the producers now plan to submit the movie to the Oscars, taking into account the overwhelmingly good reviews from all quarters.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra is the co-editor, co-producer, and director of 12th Fail. The movie is the official adaptation of Anurag Pathak's novel of the same name. In addition to Vikrant Massey, Medha Shankar, Anant V Joshi, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Priyanshu Chatterjee also star in the movie. The film was released worldwide on October 27 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.
12th Fail is based in the small village of Chambal and explores the academic path of Vikrant's character, who appears for the UPSC exams, which is the world's most difficult competitive exam. He does this in an effort to recover his destiny.
